Sooo…. I recently turned 30. What a joy and a blessing to have lived for this long. Life has been a huge mystery, full of more questions than answers. For instance, I never understood why people make turning 30 such a big deal. Some people, especially women dread turning this age simply because of the pressures they put on themselves with society making it worse. Why should you be married, have kids and have it all together by the age of thirty? Why are some of these things even considered as measures of success anyways?

Well, I have a lot of whys and a lot to say on ageing but that is not the purpose of this post.  Turning thirty has made me reflect on a lot of things. One of the main things being counting my blessings because, the Lord has been so good to me. Oh, He has been good to me! His love and mercy for me is unbelievable and so I choose to praise His Holy name. I therefore thought it would be fun to put together a list of 30 things I have learned about God so far. Perhaps this is more for myself as a reminder but I hope it blesses you.

1.     God is ALMIGHTY. He holds all power so there is nothing He cannot do.

2.    God is WORTHY of all honour praise and adoration.

3.    God is HOLY. He is absolutely perfect, without any blemish or flaw. He is in a class of His own.

4.    God is a SAVIOUR. He rescues us even from our very own self.

5.    God is LOVE. He is the definition of love which we could never deserve.

6.    God CARES about every aspect of your life, no matter how small.

7.    God is ALWAYS GOOD. Even when life is bad, He remains good.

8.    God is ALWAYS PRESENT. Sometimes He is silent but, He is there.

9.    God is FAITHFUL. Even when we are faithless, His faithfulness remains.

10. God is TRUSTWORTHY. He will not trick you. He will do what He says He will do.

11.  God is MERCIFUL. When you mess up, He doesn’t write you off.

12. God knows the FUTURE. So, we don’t need to know the future. We need to know and trust the one who does.

13. God DOES NOT LIE. He is a promise keeper.

14. God NEVER SLEEPS. So, it’s pointless being up at night solving matters in your head (most times anyways)

15. He is a God of PURPOSE. There are no coincidences with Him. None!

16. God ALIGNS. Sometimes we mess up and end up in situations we cannot undo but He works out everything for our good.

17. God is a COUNCILLOR. The third part of the God head the Holy Spirit councils and comforts. We just need to ask Him in our time of need.

18. God gives PEACE. I call it the peace that doesn’t make sense because you may be experiencing so many trials but this peace remains. It is mind boggling.

19. God is a PROVIDER. Every single need, He can meet it. You cannot lack in Him.

20. God has the power to CHANGE A HEART. Even the ones that seem irredeemable!

21. There is nothing God cannot do. Absolutely nothing!

22. He is a God of principles. Just like 1 + 1 is 2, He has put laws in place and consequences of not abiding them.

23.  God does not hold your past against you. He doesn’t hold grudges.

24.  God REFINES. Most times its through the flames. Trimming off our “rough edges” as a part of sanctification.

25.  God is UNCHANGING. No matter what may change He remains the same.

26.  God SPEAKS. His word is His voice. Even through people, he speaks.

27.  God HEARS. He even knows what we will say before we say it.

28.  God SEES. Not just physically but, deep down in the corners of our souls.

29.  God is UNMATCHED. Undefeated to this day.

30.  All for His GLORY. Everything exists for His glory. Everything.
